Hi, I’m Hannah Holst.
A Labor & Delivery and postpartum nurse and Certified Breastfeeding Specialist (CBS) with a heart for supporting moms through the beautiful, challenging, and sometimes unexpected journey of feeding their babies. I believe breastfeeding support should feel personal, compassionate, on-going, and free from judgment. My own experiences as a breastfeeding mother (x2) has deepened my passion for helping women navigate the real-life challenges of breastfeeding, especially when things don’t go according to plan. I’m particularly passionate about supporting moms experiencing low milk supply and the hormonal and metabolic factors that can sometimes play a role. Whether you’re preparing to breastfeed, navigating those first overwhelming weeks, struggling with supply, or simply wanting reassurance that you’re on the right track, my goal is to meet you where you are, listen to your unique story, and help you reach your feeding goals with confidence and support.
Why Choose to work with me?
Because breastfeeding is about more than a good latch.
I know that breastfeeding can be beautiful—and also incredibly hard.
Sometimes the challenge is a shallow latch or painful feeding. Sometimes it’s a baby who isn’t transferring milk effectively. Sometimes it’s a milk supply that never seems to be quite enough. And sometimes there are deeper factors at play, including PCOS, thyroid conditions, hormonal changes, metabolic health, birth experiences, or other circumstances that can affect breastfeeding.
I don’t believe in simply telling a mother to “pump more” or “keep trying.”
I also don’t believe in the “exclusively breastfed” (EBF) terminology that is pushed. Breastfeeding does not have to be ALL or nothing to have a successful and fulfilling journey.
But I do want to understand why.
I look at the whole picture - and know when to refer out to another specialist for further diagnosis, treatment, and care.
I consider your baby’s feeding patterns, milk transfer, pumping routine, supplementation, feeding goals, postpartum recovery, hormones at play, and the factors that may be affecting your milk supply.
Together, we can create a plan that is realistic for your body, your baby, and your life.
I believe in sustainable breastfeeding—not perfect breastfeeding.
My goal isn’t to help you achieve someone else’s definition of breastfeeding success.
Maybe your goal is “primarily” breastfeeding. Maybe you want to increase your supply. Maybe you need to supplement while protecting your breastfeeding relationship (and your mental sanity). Maybe you want to exclusively pump. Maybe you want to breastfeed for a few months—or a full year.
Your goals matter
I will meet you where you are and help you make informed decisions without shame or pressure.
I stay with you beyond the first appointment.
Breastfeeding doesn’t stop changing after the newborn stage.
That’s why I offer ongoing care rather than a one-visit model. As your baby grows, your feeding relationship changes too—and your plan may need to change with it.
From the first latch to pumping at work, from changing milk supply to introducing solids, I’m here to help you navigate each new season.
And above all, I want you to feel cared for.
You deserve a lactation professional who listens to you, takes your concerns seriously, celebrates your wins, and doesn’t make you feel like you’re failing when breastfeeding doesn’t go exactly as planned.
My goal is not simply to help you breastfeed.
It’s to help you feel confident, supported, and cared for throughout your breastfeeding journey. Because your baby may not remember the time and effort you put into breastfeeding, but YOU sure will. So don’t walk through this alone, and get the support you need!
